Let's Shimmy into the New Year
Hey Everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and a great start to 2017! I want to apologize for being a little MIA on all my social media platforms as I was under the weather during the week – not the best way to start off the New Year but hey, I am back in action to share my glamorous look from New Years Eve and my 2017 resolutions!
I wanted to shimmy into 2017 in fashionable style, so I decided to pair a white tee with my black sequin pants. This sparkly combination screamed New Year while maintaining a causal chic vibe. It’s the perfect outfit for a low-key night at home or a night on the town, especially the warm and comfy pants. My ladies, you know what I’m talking about - going out in skirts / dresses during the winter can be quite brutal, so these pants are the perfect alternative. Also, sequin pants never go out of style: glitter and glam is always popular during the holiday season! You can always dress it up or dress it down like I did, a total win-win! I completed this outfit by adding a beautiful and intricate black choker and red heels for the perfect pop of color.
Before I begin to tell you all my Gala New Year resolutions, I want to say that many people are under the assumption that resolutions can only be made during the New Year – this is a misconception of our society. We can make resolutions anytime of the year as long as we follow through with our goals. So, if you haven’t started yet, it’s no big deal! You can start whenever you feel ready!
I love Gala dé Govind because it’s a positive platform that allows me to inspire creativity within others. My friends and family have mentioned that my blog posts inspired them to create/replicate an outfit that they wouldn’t have otherwise assembled together. Many have also mentioned how they love when I use basic pieces to put together an outfit that can be found in everyone’s closet. Hearing these positive comments makes me jump for joy! It motivates me to create more stylish outfits and share more ideas. However, I work full time as a tax accountant in New York City so it can become difficult to juggle my career and blogging passion simultaneously. Hence, my goal this year is to spend any free time I have on Gala dé Govind. I want to produce quality weekly or bi-weekly blog posts. I also want to incorporate a couple of beauty/lifestyle posts this year. I am hoping 2017 will be a year filled with better time management and more unique ideas!
