Bless Box: February Review
Hi guys,
I want to apologize to you all for being MIA – I wasn’t feeling well and barely had any energy to do anything. I decided to take a little time off from social media and blogging until I recovered, but I’m back now! Today’s post will be a little different than the usual because I’m incorporating my 2017 goals! Can I get a little “woot woot!", haha.
Last month on my Instagram, I mentioned that I am part of only one subscription box, which is the “Blessed Box”. This box is designed by one of my favorite bloggers, Sazan Hendrix, whom I have been following for a couple of years. Today I will be sharing my opinions on the products that I have received in my February Blessed Box. Side note: I like to use the products before I give you my opinions so it’ll take me a week or two to post my comments from when I receive the items. Without further ado, lets go through all my new goodies!
Stationary cards – I am a sucker for handwritten stationary cards because I believe they are more sincere and meaningful. I have a collection of all the cards I have received throughout my childhood, so when I received these little cards in the box, I was thrilled. I cannot wait to use these with some of my friends and family.
Colourpop lippies – Normally, I am really picky when it comes to lipstick color because it’s always a personal preference, and not everyone has the same taste. However, Sazan has managed to always find the best lippies to put in the Blessed Box package. This month I received a maroon lipstick in “Déjà Vu", which is dark and bold. I also received a liquid lipstick in "Bare Neccessities", which is a rusty pink matted shape. These two lippies are perfect for a day and night wear. Side note: my mom loved these colors and asked me if she can have them too - off course I said yes, can’t be hoarding all the goodies for myself now, haha.
Maybelline mascara – I literally jumped for joy when I saw this in my Blessed Box because I recently ran out of my Maybelline mascara. I am definitely not picky when it comes to my mascaras because they have always worked well on me. I have tried numerous Maybelline mascaras and love them all. I used to have the colossal mascara a while back and fell in love with it again. It created the perfect drama in the eye without clumping your eyelashes together.
Maybelline eye shadow – At first glance, I was in love with all the beautiful neutral shades that were available in this palette. However, I wasn’t a fan of the pigmentation of these eye shadows. It’s really light and barely showed up on my skin. Most likely will not be using - I know, such a bummer!
Amika Products - I received three products from the Amika brand: a nourishing mask, bombshell blowout spray and haute mess texture gel. The first thing I noticed about these products is the berry smell, which is delicious! I love the nourishing mask during the winter because it hydrates my dry brittle hair. It makes it smooth, healthy and smell amazing – I definitely would purchase this product again. At first, I was hesitant about the haute mess texture gel but when I applied it on my curly hair, it gave a soft, shiny and a everlasting finish. Definitely exceed my expectations. Lastly, the bombshell blowout spray is like any other ordinary spray. It was great to use but I didn't notice a difference in volume in my hair, but it may be because I already have voluminous hair.
"Baby Bliss" cream – I love hand lotions: it’s a product that I cannot live without in the winter. I am constantly applying lotion on my hands so when I received this product I was very excited. Although hydrating and soft, I was not a fan of the tart-y lemon smell. I would not buy this product again because I am not a fan of sour-anything, but if you don’t mind then definitely go for it. J
Noonday Collection Bracelet – I thought this bracelet was super cute! I love the little beads and layers. It’s a perfect piece to add to your arm candy because it blends in within almost everything!
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides – I was really hesitant to try this product. I was going to toss it to the side without trying it because I don’t like taking supplements that I am not familiar with. I only take my basic vitamins. However, the words “Collagen Peptide” kept glaring at me so I decided to research this product. Upon my search, I realized everyone on the internet is raving about this magical product. It “claims” to help grow thicker hair, nails and even improve the texture of one’s skin. The only difference I noticed so far is that my nails are becoming stronger. Maybe I’ll see more in the upcoming weeks? I will definitely be trying this product until I finish it. I can keep you guys posted if you like – let me know what you guys think.
Tone it Up Protein Sample – Call me weird, but I don’t believe in taking protein powder. I try to eat a very balanced diet, especially when I am working out. If I ever feel like I need extra protein, my go-to are eggs! That’s why I was also skeptical of trying the protein supplement above. Unfortunately, I will not be able to provide you all with my opinion on this product as I have given it away to one of my friends. Sorry!
Overall, I loved February’s Bless Box! It has been one of my favorites so far! I was exposed to so many new products that I have added to my favorite list, such as the Amika Nourishing Hair Mask. This box was definitely fabulous! I cannot wait to share with you all my March Bless Box review. Stay tuned!
